The zero km marker in Santiago de Chile lies in the Plaza de Armes, main square.
is, or should be, a small circular disk embedded in the floor just in front of the Monumento a la Libertad Americana, approximately 30cm in diameter. It is/was inscribed “KM 0. Origin de las Distancias Nationale”
Why do I say, “should be” and “was” in the past tense? Because when we visited the location on 6th March 2024, somebody had stolen the marker (a common occurrence amongst Zero KM markers) leaving just a muddy puddle…
